Options Family and Behavior Services, located in Minnesota, contacted me late 2015 to direct and design the branding identity for “Options Minnesota”. The brand approach needed to separate itself from the other three organizations branding under the parent company. They came in fully aware of what they wanted to see and expressed their direction to me while leaving the door open to any/all ideas I felt could be considered to help launch OM in mid-2016. Below is the creative process by which we came to a final brand identity that they moved forward with to successfully establish their business and services. The process was so successful that they contacted me in early 2018 to quickly rebrand their 20th anniversary celebration identity for parent company, Options Family and Behavior Services (also shown below). There was little creative room to offer based on budget due to needing to recreate what was produced in 1998—that they had no file archives for. Once that curveball was accomplished, I added a few 20th brand options to deviate from their original logo best I could. They were ecstatic with the process and results, and that’s what ultimately matters to me as a creative director when projects begin with technical problems to solve, and end in a client’s happiness.
