“a•dore hair llc” is the second of two small businesses that I’ve helped Stephanie Nethery brand and develop since 2009. “Estillo” was Steph’s first salon studio venture before selling it to focus on raising a family. In late 2016, she contacted me to express interest in developing brand identity for a new, larger salon studio she was planning to open with a group of business partners. Steph did an incredible job adapting to manage her business partners in order to allow me to efficiently give them what satisfied their marketing ideas on my limited schedule and their budget. I can’t take 100% responsibility for the final logo’s design. Steph designed the idea on an iPad App after her partners didn’t like any mock designs from the first two rounds of design ideas. I discovered that their group had some loose wheel opinions. 5 yays to 1 nay, and they were an all or nothing partnership. So I complied best I could by negotiating solely with Steph, knowing that their partnership needed a point person and anchor for decisions that have an effect on time, energy and budget. Steph did the unexpected and took it upon herself to design an idea to send to me. I was ecstatic—that rarely ever happens because most non-creative people need their hands held. Perfect. I reproduced the many source files, set spot colors, brand themes, to create materials that they needed to open her salon. Point of the matter is this— whatever your client wants, your client deserves no matter the amount of hands, eyes, and opinions. Steph’s handling of her partners’ varying opinions, and then providing directions to me, saved me much time and energy that typically goes wasted on similar projects when I’m left to handle too many personalities and opinions, and that’s what makes Steph a pleasure to work with.
